Do I need a visa to work\stay in Mexico?
Yes, expatriates do require a visa to work
in Mexico – for any type of job. You must also have legal
documentation to remain in the country for an “extended”
period of time. Your GoMex consultant will take care of all
of that.

What do I need to include with
my application form?
If you are solely looking to work or live
in Mexico on a temporary basis you need to include a copy of
your personal resume, as well as a copy of our “Resume
and Educational Disclosure Form” and three (3) current
photographs. If you are looking for permanent relocation services,
business investment opportunities or to purchase Real Estate,
you must contact our head office and speak directly to one of
our Canadian consultants. All necessary information is included
on the contact page of this web
site.

Why do I need to include photographs
with my application form?
The lack of a proper “face to face”
interview makes it very difficult for employers to hire the
“right” person for the particular position. We require
photographs of most employment applicants in order to productively
promote you. Depending on the type of employment you are seeking,
it may not be a required part of your application.

Why should I use GoMex services –
can’t I just do this on my own?
Yes, of course you can chose to do it on your
own – but it is highly risky
and we strongly advised that you seek professional advise. Mexico
can be a very dangerous place, especially for those who are
new to the country and are not accustomed, or aware of the culture.
Your GoMex consultant knows Mexico.
We are knowledgeable about the laws, immigration system, culture
and way of life. We can guide you
towards the good employers and profitable investments, as well
as steer you away from the less then reputable people, businesses
and services. At GoMex, we take pride in helping people discover
what a miraculous place Mexico really is, and only want our
clients to experience the best Mexico has to offer.

Do you arrange accommodation
for me during my stay?
Yes, we can arrange accommodation for you.
If you are within the Hotel\Hospitality industry, accommodation
is sometimes provided for you. Otherwise, you will need to arrange
housing yourself. Your GoMex consultant can arrange safe and
clean housing close to your employment that, in most cases,
will have all of the comforts of home. This, of course, depends
on your needs and specifications, which will all be discussed
with your consultant before your departure.
If you have decided to make Mexico your permanent
or second home, your GoMex consultant can assist you with your
search. Real Estate is a booming business in Mexico, as property
is wildly sought after. Mexican Real Estate proves time and
again to be a great investment choice.

What can I take with me?
This depends on the length of your stay (whether
temporary or permanent), and can be limited. There are certain
items that are prohibited and must be purchased on Mexican soil.
Your consultant can provide you with this information as well
as a list of reputable\reliable moving companies.

What does your Support Program”
offer me and what do I do if I get into trouble while I’m
in Mexico?
The Continued Support Program is designed
to assist GoMex clients that are in need or in distress during
their stay in Mexico. Our 24-hour emergency line directly connects
you to a consultant based out of our main Mexican office in
Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. If you are based out of Puerto Vallarta
or nearby, you can drop in during business hours and be directly
assisted by one of our Mexican based consultants. Whether you
need additional information regarding banking procedures, or
a lawyer to assist you with the policia, a GoMex consultant
will assist you. Other offices in Cancun and Mexico City are
being developed and are soon to come.

If it is so easy, why doesn’t
everybody move to Mexico?
It is not easy.
There is a lot of required paperwork, red tape, preparation
and legal documents that must be completed. Things are not “cut
and dry” in Mexico and life runs on “Mexican time”.
It requires a lot of knowledge and patience to address everything
necessary for a smooth transition.
